Basic course

Start learning about ceramics and its components. Learn some modeling techniques and then continue with glazing and firing.

In particular:

  • introduction to ceramics and basic notions
  • pizzicato technique
  • pigeon technique
  • plate technique
  • enamelling
  • cooking

Course cost €250

The course involves participation in 5 meetings lasting approximately 2 and a half hours each.

At the end of the course the participant will be able to take his pieces home.

The material is made available by the laboratory.

The course will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 2 participants.

Private lessons

Lessons can be arranged on a weekly basis.

Hourly cost €25
The cost includes the material and the teachings, excluding cooking which will be calculated later.

NB the earth available to the customer is a low temperature white earth. The use of stoneware involves an additional cost to be agreed with the customer.

 

Free laboratory

Dedicated to those who already have some ceramic knowledge or to those who simply want to give vent to their creativity. With this solution the participant has the opportunity to freely access the laboratory and use all the material that Kalakera makes available! Hourly books are provided and the hours actually spent at the Kalakera laboratory will be counted.

The cost includes the material. Cooking times which will be calculated later are excluded.

NB the earth available to the customer is a low temperature white earth. The use of stoneware involves an additional cost to be agreed with the customer.

Workshops

CERAMIC HERBARIUMS

With the plate technique and wild herbs, we will create small herbariums to hang on the wall. You will be able to choose whether to use the herbs available in the laboratory or to arrive with your own bundle! Once printed on the plate, you can paint the flowers with the colors made available by the laboratory.


The herbariums will then be fired and glazed by the laboratory and ready for collection after a few weeks.

To participate in the workshop it is not necessary to have any knowledge of ceramic processing.

The cost includes the material (TPF earth, tools necessary for processing and engobes), glazing and firing.

 

MUGS AND MUGS

Two hours dedicated to the production and decoration of cups and mugs. With the pizzicato technique you can create some coffee cups or a nice mug for your herbal teas. Once modeled, you can decorate them as you wish.


The cups and mugs will then be fired and glazed by the workshops and ready for collection after a few weeks.

To participate in the workshop it is not necessary to have any knowledge of ceramic manufacturing.

WALL DECORATION

In this workshop we will learn to create wall decorations with the plate technique. Once the ceramic slab has been rolled out, objects and images will be cut out which you can then paint and decorate as you wish. A metal hook will then be applied so that the works can be hung on the wall!
You can bring your own ideas or be inspired by what you find in the laboratory.

To participate in the workshop it is not necessary to have any knowledge of ceramic manufacturing.
